Summary of the role

We are looking for a Senior Commercial to lead our contracting and commercial relationship for our Life and Pensions accounts. This role involves managing all contractual, commercial, and governance obligations, overseeing the contract change process by defining, negotiating, and agreeing on terms, and ensuring business alignment to maximise commercial benefits while minimising risks.

The successful candidate will establish governance mechanisms, drive adherence to contractual obligations, apply rigorous contract management policies, and lead responses to contractual and commercial issues. Additionally, they will provide commercial advice and sign-off for project changes, including major transformation programs, while managing a small team of client relationship professionals across UK sites.

Please note, as this is a people leadership role the successful applicant will be supported to succeed in their new role through enrolment in the appropriate level of our Diligenta Leadership ‘Step’ Pathway (subject to eligibility criteria), designed to drive quality and consistency across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Overseeing contract governance and monitoring that Diligenta adheres to its contractual obligations
  • Ensure compliance with all functional risk and compliance sign off processes and procedure
  • Resolution of commercial and contractual escalations raised from the Diligenta/TCS team
  • Protecting the company commercially by identifying relief positions against at risk obligations
  • Managing and developing existing relationships in providing an excellent service and identifying further business opportunities
  • Ensure Diligenta’s future strategy is applied to the growth and commerciality of the agreement, identifying opportunities to grow the account and take responsibility for the negotiation of additional services to the client

What we’re looking for

  • Practical experience in commercial management and outsourced services
  • Management of a skilled team of commercially focused people.
  • Significant years commercial negotiation
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and communication skills with the ability to present to senior management and executive level.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills and able to identify commercial opportunities and risks
  • Delivery focussed and results oriented
  • Ability to quickly comprehend complex business processes and issues and able to generate appropriate and workable solutions
