We’re working with a fast-growing specialist insurance business operating in the entertainment and media space, looking to appoint a Billing & Collections Specialist to join their finance function. This role sits at the heart of the business, owning receivables, payables and trust account compliance across a portfolio of insurance programmes. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys detail, structure and process, but who is also confident working with internal teams, brokers, carriers and customers to resolve issues and improve how things are done.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for ensuring billing accuracy, timely collections and strong financial controls, while delivering a high standard of service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Applying payments from billing vendors and reconciling discrepancies
- Producing reports for carriers and brokers and initiating monthly payments
- Responding to invoicing and payment queries from insureds, brokers and carriers
- Monitoring and resolving rejected transactions from nightly data feeds
- Managing receivables to minimise cancellations and overdue balances
- Ensuring compliance with carrier financial requirements across each programme
- Preparing monthly trust account statements to confirm accounts remain “in trust”
- Reviewing daily reports covering new business, payments and cancellations
- Supporting underwriting teams with training and guidance where data entry impacts financial accuracy
- Acting as a subject matter expert on billing systems and financial processes
- Attending programme meetings and contributing to continuous improvement
- Identifying service issues and recommending process or system enhancements
- Maintaining clear, accurate documentation of all financial queries and resolutions

Experience & Skills
- Associate degree in a business-related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical or professional role
- Insurance or MGA experience beneficial but not essential
- Intermediate Excel skills, including spreadsheets and basic analytics
- Previous experience in a customer-facing or service-oriented role
- Strong organisational and communication skills
