Location: Fully Remote (first 2 days onsite in Bristol for onboarding/training)

Contract Length: Initial 6 months, with strong likelihood of extension

Rate: £25.50 per hour

Umbrella IR35: Inside IR35

Start Date: ASAP

Security Requirement: Successful completion of a DBS check (arranged as part of the onboarding process)

We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Author to support a major programme within the defence and engineering sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and review high-quality technical documentation in accordance with S1000D standards.
  • Author and edit technical publications using XML authoring tools.
  • Act as a key technical documentation contact, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Review publications for quality, accuracy and compliance.
  • Support documentation processes and continuous improvement activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Recent hands-on S1000D experience.
  • Experience using XML editing/authoring software.
  • Ability to provide your own Windows 11-compatible IT equipment.
  • Willingness to undergo and successfully complete a new DBS check.
