The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to join a high-profile NHS programme, supporting the design and delivery of modern, scalable data and analytics pipelines. This role will play a key part in improving how data is processed and utilised to drive clinical insights, operational performance, and decision‑making across healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, end-to-end data pipelines on AWS, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, and output generation.
- Develop and maintain a dedicated reporting database, reducing reliance on ad‑hoc querying against operational systems.
- Leverage AWS services such as Athena, S3, Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions to deliver automated scheduling, orchestration, and monitoring.
- Implement data quality checks and maintain a clear audit trail across all processing steps.
- Develop analytical reports and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain repeatable analytical solutions to support programme monitoring and reporting needs.
- Produce well‑documented, maintainable code and processes.
Technical Requirements
- Strong experience with SQL and Python.
- AWS data/analytics services.
- Hands‑on experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
- Proven track record building data pipelines, reporting layers, and analytics solutions.
