We’re looking for an experienced SC Cleared Software Developer with strong Power Platform expertise to join a government department. This contract is paying £650 per day (Inside IR35) and will run for around 5 months, with the possibility of extension. The role requires 2 days per week on‑site in Westminster, with the remaining time remote.

You’ll be working on the development and enhancement of critical digital services, using Microsoft Power Platform alongside broader software engineering principles to deliver scalable, user‑focused solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Translating business requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Designing and building applications using Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Developing and integrating services within a wider architecture
  • Ensuring solutions are user‑focused, accessible, and aligned to government standards
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code/configuration
  • Supporting issue investigation, resolution, and continuous improvement
  • Applying secure development practices, including awareness of OWASP principles
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and clearly communicating technical concepts

Tech and environment:

  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
  • Integration with wider enterprise systems and APIs
  • Azure‑based environments (desirable)
  • Source control and CI/CD practices
  • Agile delivery using tools such as Jira / Azure DevOps

What we’re looking for:

  • Active SC Clearance (essential)
  • Strong experience building solutions using Power Platform in production environments
  • Solid software development background beyond low‑code tools
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and non‑technical users
  • Experience breaking down requirements, refining work items, and defining acceptance criteria
  • Understanding of clean coding practices and maintaining scalable solutions
  • Appreciation of software architecture principles and integration patterns
