SQL DBA Specialist

Location: Reading

We're looking for an experienced SQL DBA to join a growing team supporting critical SQL Server environments. You'll be responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, and resilience across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Optimise database performance and resolve issues proactively.
  • Maintain high availability solutions and ensure system resilience.
  • Implement security best practices and database governance.
  • Automate database administration tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell.
  • Monitor database health, capacity, and performance.
  • Provide operational support and incident resolution.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong SQL Server DBA experience.
  • Database administration, backup and recovery expertise.
  • Performance tuning and optimisation.
  • High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) experience.
  • Database security and access management.
  • Automation using T-SQL and PowerShell.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting of SQL Server environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
