Delivery Manager - Digital Engineering (SC clearance)
Contract: £550-£600 per day (Inside IR35)
Hybrid - Reading (1-2 days per week)

We're seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to lead the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of Digital Engineering Capability Demonstrations for a major defence engineering programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of Digital Engineering, showcasing innovative technologies and Digital Thread capabilities across complex engineering environments.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering compelling technical demonstrations that prove interoperability, integration and Digital Thread capabilities to customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
Working closely with engineering, IT and product teams, you’ll ensure demonstration environments effectively validate cutting-edge technologies whilst driving innovation across the wider Digital Engineering ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of Digital Engineering capability demonstrations
- Develop demonstration roadmaps, delivery plans and prioritised backlogs
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams across engineering, IT and Digital Engineering
- Deliver proof‑of‑concepts and technical demonstrations to validate solutions
- Drive innovation through experimentation with emerging technologies
- Ensure interoperability across complex toolchains and engineering platforms
- Manage stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and leadership
- Monitor delivery, risks and dependencies across demonstration environments
- Capture feedback and implement continuous improvements
- Champion Digital Thread capabilities and digital transformation initiatives
Essential Experience
- Active SC Clearance (essential)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Delivery Manager role within Defence, Aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment
- Experience delivering technical demonstrations, proof‑of‑concepts or integration testing
- Strong knowledge of Digital Engineering, Digital Thread or Engineering Toolchains
- Experience working with engineering data, configuration management and lifecycle processes
- Proven delivery experience across complex, multi‑stakeholder programmes
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working across engineering, IT, manufacturing and supply chain teams
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
- Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent) or equivalent experience
- IT Service Management knowledge (ITIL or similar)

- API integration, middleware or event‑driven architectures
- Interoperability and systems integration
- Cyber Security and secure engineering environments
- Cloud or enterprise infrastructure
- Innovation, rapid prototyping and emerging technologies
- Digital Engineering platforms and modern engineering toolsets
