We are seeking an experienced Storage / Backup Engineer to join a high-profile programme within the Defence sector. This is an exciting contract opportunity for a technically strong infrastructure professional who thrives in a fast-paced, security-focused environment and is keen to work on mission‑critical platforms.
The successful contractor will be responsible for the administration, support and optimisation of enterprise storage and backup solutions, ensuring maximum availability, performance and resilience across complex environments.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience with NetApp storage solutions (essential)
- Proven background in enterprise backup technologies and data protection
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure environments
- Knowledge of storage performance tuning, replication and disaster recovery
- Ability to work effectively within secure and highly regulated environments
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable:
- Experience within Defence, Government or other secure sectors
- Knowledge of VMware, Windows and Linux infrastructure
- Exposure to automation and infrastructure tooling
Candidates must be eligible to undergo UKSV Security Check (SC) clearance, with sponsorship available for suitable applicants who do not currently hold active clearance. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical national programmes while gaining valuable experience within a leading Defence environment.
