Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to undertake independent assurance reviews on behalf of the P3M function across specific Projects, Programmes, or Portfolios. This role will focus on Planning & Scheduling assurance within a high‑hazard, highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will provide objective, evidence‑based assessments and constructive challenge to ensure compliance with defined standards and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake independent planning and scheduling assurance reviews
- Attend all required meetings associated with assigned assurance reviews
- Participate in weekly tasking meetings with P3M Assurance Management
- Review project documentation and assess compliance with defined planning standards
- Analyse and examine schedules using Primavera P6
- Agree recommendations and improvement actions with Project, Programme, or Portfolio teams
- Deliver objective, evidence‑based feedback, including potentially challenging messages to senior stakeholders
- Produce clear, concise, and high‑quality written reports
Deliverables
- Contribution to the P3M Assurance Assessment Spreadsheet
- Contribution to formal Assurance Reports
- Agreed and documented recommendations and corrective actions
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ demonstrable experience in a senior planning role delivering significant and/or complex projects or programmes
- Proven experience conducting independent reviews
- Strong expertise in Primavera P6, including schedule interrogation and analysis
- Experience working in a high-hazard, highly regulated environment (AWE experience or similar)
- Ability to present difficult findings to senior management professionally and confidently
- Strong analytical capability with evidence‑based assessment approach
- Clear and concise report‑writing skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the nuclear and/or defence sector
- Experience working within nuclear regulatory environments
- 10+ years’ relevant experience
- Experience working with government agencies, departments, or processes
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6
Expenses
The rate includes expenses for working at the specified base location. If additional travel and subsistence costs are required outside the base location, prior approval must be obtained from the Project Manager. Approved expenses will be reimbursed in line with company policy. Expenses submitted without prior approval or more than two months after being incurred may not be reimbursed.
