This organisation delivers advanced hardware solutions into some of the most challenging and sensitive operating environments worldwide. Working closely with government and trusted partners, the engineering teams design and develop secure, high‑performance wireless and electronic systems that are deployed in real‑world, mission‑critical scenarios.
The culture is strongly engineering‑led and focused on end‑to‑end product ownership, with engineers seeing their designs progress from concept through development, integration, and deployment. Work is carried out in a secure on‑site environment, enabling close collaboration, rapid problem‑solving, and a deep understanding of how products are ultimately used.
As a Senior Hardware Design Engineer, you will be part of a specialist team responsible for developing high‑speed and RF‑based hardware products that operate in demanding conditions. You will take ownership of design decisions and see your concepts realised through the full engineering lifecycle, from early design through to delivered capability.
You will work hands‑on with circuit and PCB design, component selection, and system‑level integration, tackling complex technical challenges that require both creativity and rigour. This is a role for an engineer who enjoys responsibility, thrives in secure environments, and takes pride in delivering robust, real‑world hardware solutions.
Due to the nature of the work, this is an on‑site role within a secure facility, offering flexibility in working patterns but not suitable for regular remote working.
Your background:
- Strong experience in high‑speed digital and/or RF hardware design, including PCB and circuit design
- Proven ability to own design decisions and take hardware products through the full development lifecycle
- Experience with component selection, schematic capture, and design for manufacture and reliability
- Comfortable working in a secure, on‑site engineering environment
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to handle technically demanding challenges
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a close‑knit engineering team
- Eligible and willing to obtain UK security clearance
Desired:
- Experience designing hardware for challenging or mission‑critical environments
- Exposure to wireless systems, secure communications, or specialised RF applications
- Experience working on products that are deployed and supported in operational settings
- Familiarity with working in regulated or security‑constrained engineering programmes
