Talent Solutions Partner | National Security & Central Government
Are you an experienced Cloud Architect with technical knowledge of migrations? Are you looking for a change of pace and the opportunity to work in a sector that is critical to the safety of millions or people across the country?
Sanderson G&D are collaborating with a leading UK-based organisation seeking talented Cloud Architects across grades to support Secure Government customers across National Security. In this role, you’ll help modernise legacy systems and design robust, scalable cloud infrastructure for mission-critical services – all while gaining full security clearances to work in an impactful sector.

Grade: Junior-Senior
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the client’s Solution Architect to design and implement innovative, cloud-first solutions
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through proof-of-concept builds and implementation efforts
- Shape, evolve, and document overall architecture while guiding the transition from legacy platforms to cloud-native services
- Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business needs into technical design and delivery
- Advise on emerging technologies and best practices to drive continual improvement
- Proven hands‑on experience working in AWS environments, with a strong systems engineering background on Linux
- Comfortable switching between solution design, coding (especially infrastructure-as-code), and client engagement
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high availability, scalable, and performance‑focused systems
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and organisation skills, with the adaptability to work effectively in a fast-changing, Agile environment
- Self-starter attitude with strong attention to detail, energy, tenacity, and ability to perform under pressure
- Exposure to DevOps practices and tooling (AI/ML, ElasticSearch, Big Data) is a plus
Security Clearance Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for national security clearance. To meet this requirement, applicants must:
- Be sole British citizens (dual nationality is not permitted)
- Have not spent more than 30 consecutive days outside the UK in the past 10 years
- Have no criminal record
- Have no significant financial irregularities (e.g. bankruptcy, outstanding debt issues)
Unfortunately, candidates who do not meet these criteria cannot be considered for this position.
