The role:
As a Lead Electronics Engineer, you will act as a technical authority guiding the development of high-power electronic sub-systems, with a particular focus on emerging and advanced technologies such as directed energy. You will take ownership of technical direction, supporting the design and delivery of complex electronic systems while working closely with customers and partners to define and shape programme requirements. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with customer engagement, requiring strong engineering judgement and the ability to influence outcomes across both internal teams and external stakeholders. You will also play a key role in mentoring and developing engineers, helping to build capability within a fast-moving and technically ambitious environment.
Your background:
- Strong experience in analogue electronics design at a mid-to-senior level
- Experience working on high-power electronics or advanced energy systems
- Experience contributing to or leading the development of complex electronic systems
- Comfortable operating as a technical lead or subject matter expert
- Exposure to emerging technologies or R&D-driven engineering environments
- Experience contributing to bids, proposals, or programme definition activities
- Background operating within defence or safety-critical engineering programmes
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, candidates must be eligible for UK security clearance, which may involve nationality and residency requirements.
