Sanderson G&D are seeking an Applications Assurance Consultant operating with a technical consultancy supplying into the Public Sector. This is a great chance to join an exciting team and project area.
Role
The role revolves around collaboration, working in an environment with several departments, applications, websites and processes and providing the consultancy to drive forward solutions that optimise assurance.
Responsibilities
- Application Discovery & Mapping
- Ability to analyse complex application estates across multiple departments
- Skilled at identifying application owners, data flows, integrations, and access models
- Understanding of legacy, cloud, and hybrid application architectures
- Access & Permissions Management
- Hands‑on experience analysing RBAC models, user groups, entitlements, and access hierarchies
- Knowledge of identity governance and access controls across multiple systems
- Experience with permission reviews, user-role mapping, and least‑privilege analysis
- User Group & Stakeholder Analysis & Consultancy
- Ability to map user groups to business functions and departmental responsibilities
- Skilled in analysing how permissions propagate through roles, groups, and nested groups
- Understanding of multi‑department access issues and governance challenges
- Documentation & Reporting
- Producing clear application inventories, access control lists, user group maps, and gap analyses
- Communicating findings to non‑technical stakeholders in structured, actionable formats
- Web Application Analysis
- Reviewing site structures, admin functionality, integrations and API use
- Understanding common security issues that arise in departmental web systems
- Identifying where access control is implemented (front‑end, back‑end, service layer)
