Full-Stack Software Developer

Role: Software Developer

Day Rate: £520p/d Inside IR35

Location: Central London (hybrid up to 2 days a week)

Clearance required: ACTIVE SC & NPPV3 clearance.

Duration: initial work package until March 2026 (scope for extension as a long‑term programme)

We\’re looking for an expert Full‑Stack Java Engineer to join a high‑profile, fast‑moving government programme with a fixed deadline. You\’ll work in a large team building microservices, scalable APIs, optimised SQL, and fully containerised deployments on AWS. You\’ll also collaborate directly with senior stakeholders, turning complex problems into tested, working solutions.

What You\’ll Do

• Build and deploy backend services with Java & Spring Boot
• Develop scalable APIs
• Optimise SQL for large datasets
• Work with DevOps on Docker and AWS deployments
• Shape architecture and technical direction
• Write clean, tested code and review others\’ work

What You\’ll Bring

• Expert Java (8/11/17+)
• Deep Spring Boot & microservices experience
• Strong AWS skills (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM)
• Kafka / event‑driven systems
• SQL optimisation
• REST/JSON API design
• Docker proficiency
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have

• JavaScript / React
• Aurora / RDS
