Our defence client is seeking a highly skilled VMware NSX‑T Engineer/Architect to play a key role in designing and delivering secure, resilient, and scalable network solutions across mission‑critical environments. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of software‑defined networking within a complex, high‑security landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, deployment, and administration of VMware NSX‑T, including logical switching, routing, distributed firewalls, and micro-segmentation.
- Architect robust Layer 2/3 network solutions, with deep expertise in BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, and trunking.
- Implement advanced firewalling and security controls, including segmentation strategies, IDS/IPS, and zero‑trust methodologies.
- Support and optimise L4/L7 load balancing and high‑availability patterns.
- Deploy and enhance SD‑WAN architectures to ensure resilient, high‑performance connectivity.
- Drive network automation using Python, Ansible, or vendor APIs to streamline configuration and validation.
- Manage core network services such as DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and addressing strategies.
- Enhance monitoring and observability through telemetry, flow analysis, alerting, and performance tuning.
