We are seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to join a multidisciplinary analytics team supporting the delivery and transformation of services within the Later Life Service Group. The team delivers insight, advanced analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence solutions that help improve services, support strategic decision-making, and drive measurable outcomes.

Working closely with stakeholders across Service Delivery, Digital, and Transformation teams, you will play a key role in solving complex business challenges through the use of data science and analytical techniques. This is an opportunity to work with large and complex data sets, develop innovative analytical products, and influence decision-making through evidence-based insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of advanced analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence solutions to support business decision-making.
  • Explore and analyse complex data sets to identify trends, opportunities, and solutions to business challenges.
  • Develop innovative analytical products that deliver actionable insight and measurable outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify areas where data can add value.
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations that support service improvements and transformation initiatives.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholders across Service Delivery, Digital, and Transformation teams.
  • Support the use of data-driven approaches to improve services for citizens and colleagues.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and analytical excellence.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working in a Data Science role, delivering analytical solutions to address complex business problems.
  • Experience developing and applying Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with large and complex data sets.
  • Ability to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
  • Experience communicating complex analysis and technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within large-scale service delivery or transformation programmes.
  • Experience developing innovative analytical products and tools.
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics techniques and emerging data science methodologies.
