Hybrid Working
This position follows a hybrid working model and requires attendance at the Newcastle office, Cobalt Business Park, three days per week. Please note: the above requirements relate to a specific client engagement.

The Role
As a Senior Java Developer, you will:
- Champion best practices in software development, including coding standards, branching strategies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration, and Continuous Testing.
- Collaborate with technical leads to design and implement scalable microservices architectures and ensure seamless integration across technical components.
- Support test automation activities by working closely with QA engineers to validate both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Actively contribute within an Agile Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Mentor and support team members while contributing across development and testing activities to help deliver high-quality solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Strong commercial experience with Java (versions 8-17).
- Proven expertise in Spring Framework technologies, including Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
- Experience with JavaScript development.
- Current hands-on Java development experience within enterprise environments.
- The ability to mentor, guide, and support junior developers.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
