We're hiring an experienced SC-cleared Data Architect to support the delivery of a high-profile central government data programme. This role focuses on designing secure, scalable data architectures to support analytics, reporting, and operational insight across complex government environments, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft technologies and cloud integration.

This is a hands-on architecture role, working closely with delivery teams, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to shape enterprise-wide data solutions, including national-scale reporting platforms and Power BI estates.

Key Requirements
  • Active Security Clearance (SC) - must be current and transferable
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect within central government or regulated environments
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft data stack, including:
  • Azure Data Services (Synapse, Data Factory, Azure SQL, Data Lake)
  • Power BI (enterprise reporting, semantic models, governance)
  • Data governance and metadata management (e.g. Purview)
  • Experience designing or integrating solutions across AWS environments
  • Strong understanding of data security, access controls, and information assurance
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams
  • Responsibilities
    • Define and own target and transitional data architectures aligned to government standards
    • Produce conceptual, logical, and physical data models and integration patterns
    • Design secure data flows from source systems through to analytical and reporting layers
    • Support the development of scalable Power BI reporting and MI platforms
    • Ensure architectures meet security, governance, and compliance requirements
    • Provide architectural assurance and guidance to delivery and engineering teams
    • Collaborate across policy, digital, and operational domains
    Working Pattern

    1-2 days per week on-site in London or Manchester. Remaining days remote, offering a flexible hybrid working model.
