We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a large-scale cloud platform programme supporting the evolution and enhancement of an enterprise AWS platform. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong AWS infrastructure expertise who enjoys working closely with development teams and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions.
Contract Length: 6 Months
Day Rate: £375 per day
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Location: Hybrid working, with 2 days per week onsite
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required and must be transferable prior to start
The Role
As a Cloud Engineer, you will work within a collaborative platform engineering team delivering cloud infrastructure improvements, platform enhancements and supporting service teams in the adoption of cloud-native technologies. You'll be joining one of several platform squads made up of experienced engineers, contributing to feature development, infrastructure automation and a small amount of third-line support. The role requires a strong technical background combined with excellent communication skills, as you'll regularly engage with stakeholders and service teams to explain technical concepts and guide platform adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and enhance AWS-based infrastructure solutions.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Support and improve CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions.
- Assist service teams with cloud platform adoption and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and deliver platform improvements.
- Help teams implement and manage Docker-based workloads within agreed standards and guardrails.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language for non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to networking, security and platform engineering initiatives.
