We are currently seeking an experienced Monitoring Engineer to join a high-profile defence sector client on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, administration, and optimisation of enterprise monitoring and management platforms, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of critical infrastructure and services.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with SCOM (System Center Operations Manager)
- Experience administering SCCM / MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager)
- Proven background in Microsoft infrastructure technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Azure services
- Experience configuring and managing monitoring, alerting, reporting, and performance management solutions
- Good understanding of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network troubleshooting
- Experience supporting complex enterprise environments and resolving infrastructure-related incidents
- PowerShell scripting and automation experience
- Knowledge of ITIL-based service management practices
Desirable
- Previous experience within Defence, Government, or other highly regulated environments
- Exposure to Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or other enterprise monitoring technologies
- Understanding of secure, air-gapped, or classified environments
