We're supporting a major Central Government programme and are seeking an experienced Service Designer to help shape and improve critical public-facing services. Working within a multidisciplinary agile team, you'll play a key role in designing end-to-end services that meet user needs, align with policy objectives, and adhere to GDS standards and best practices.
Essential Requirements
- Active SC Clearance (must be current and transferable)
- Strong experience working within Central Government
- Proven experience delivering services in line with GDS standards
- Expertise in service design methodologies and user-centred design
- Experience mapping complex services across multiple channels and touchpoints
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
Key Responsibilities
- Design and improve end-to-end public services using service design principles
- Create service blueprints, user journeys, ecosystem maps and process flows
- Identify pain points, opportunities and service improvements through research insights
- Collaborate with User Researchers, Interaction Designers, Content Designers, Product Managers and Developers
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
- Ensure services meet user needs, business objectives and accessibility requirements
- Support GDS assessments and contribute to service strategy and delivery
Contract Details
- Rate: Up to Β£550 per day
- IR35: Inside IR35
- Duration: Initial 6 months
- Location: Bristol, London or Newcastle
- Working Pattern: Hybrid, with 1-2 days per week onsite
- Start Date: ASAP
