A growing digital consultancy delivering complex, high-impact services into the public sector is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join its engineering capability. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful projects, contributing to the development of scalable, secure software solutions while influencing engineering best practice across multidisciplinary teams.

The Role
As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of modern digital services. You will work on complex systems, contribute to architectural decisions, and support the wider engineering team through mentorship and technical leadership. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, DevOps, and QA to deliver high-quality solutions aligned to user and business needs.

- Develop modern applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures

About You
Essential Experience
- Strong experience across the full software development lifecycle
- Significant hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
- Experience working in agile environments with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) or serverless architectures
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and modern development practices
- Understanding of software architecture patterns and secure design principles
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Experience operating at a senior level within engineering teams
- Exposure to consulting or client-facing environments
