A growing digital consultancy working across complex public sector environments is seeking a Technical Architect to support the design and delivery of modern, user-centred digital services. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, delivery, and stakeholder engagement - ideal for someone who enjoys shaping solutions while working hands-on with multidisciplinary teams.
Please note: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must either hold current SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
The Role
As a Technical Architect, you will play a critical role in designing scalable, secure, and user-focused technology solutions for high-impact programmes. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them make informed technical decisions while supporting delivery teams to bring architecture to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Design
- Design end-to-end technical architectures for complex digital services and software solutions.
- Produce high-quality artefacts including architecture diagrams, models, and technical documentation.
- Conduct technical assessments and provide clear, practical recommendations.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to user needs.
- Governance & Assurance
- Lead architecture through governance processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise, data, and security standards.
- Review and assure designs from internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Promote architectural best practices and consistency across delivery.
- Delivery & Leadership
- Lead work-streams or smaller engagements within broader programmes.
- Contribute to technical road-maps and agile delivery planning.
- Provide ongoing technical oversight and direction to delivery teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across business and technology functions.
- Facilitate architectural decision-making and communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Internal Contribution
- Support the development of junior team members through mentoring and knowledge sharing.

About You
Essential Experience
- Strong background in designing architecture for complex digital systems.
- Experience with enterprise systems, APIs/integration, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proven ability to produce and review architecture artefacts using modelling approaches (e.g. C4, UML, ArchiMate).
- Experience working across the full delivery life cycle in agile environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience navigating architecture governance and assurance processes.
- Background working in consulting or client-facing environments.
- Technology-agnostic approach with a focus on delivering the right outcome.
- Understanding of user-centred design principles in technical delivery.

- Experience working within public sector or government frameworks and standards.
- Familiarity with common public sector platforms and assessment models.
- Experience working in distributed, multidisciplinary teams.
- Eligibility for or holding security clearance (SC).
