We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-impact programme, supporting the development of advanced data dashboards and reporting products for a new service. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a modern, data-driven environment, building robust pipelines and enabling high-quality insights that support critical decision-making.

The Role

You will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data is efficiently ingested, transformed, and prepared for reporting. Working within an Agile, multidisciplinary team, you'll collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and UCD professionals to deliver high-quality data products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using PySpark
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across reporting solutions
  • Support testing and validation of dashboards and underlying datasets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery environment
  • Contribute to best practices including DevSecOps, TDD, and CI/CD
  • Participate in pair programming and uphold collaborative coding standards

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in data engineering and ETL development
  • Proven expertise with PySpark and large-scale data processing
  • Experience working with Palantir platforms (including FDP)
  • Ability to work independently and proactively within Agile teams
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (including UCD)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with modern engineering practices (DevSecOps, CI/CD, TDD)

Desirable

  • Experience working with UK healthcare data / NHS datasets

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a UK National with at least 5 years of continuous UK residency
  • Must be eligible for BPSS clearance
