The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-impact programme supporting a UK Government client. You will play a critical role in designing and building a secure, scalable data platform, enabling both batch and real-time data processing using modern commercial and open-source technologies. This is an excellent opportunity to work on mission-critical systems, solving complex data challenges in a highly secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test and maintain robust data pipelines for batch and real-time processing
- Develop solutions to ingest data from multiple sources and transform it into aligned target models
- Perform logical and physical data modelling to support analytics and operational use cases
- Enhance and evolve data platform capabilities to meet new business and analytical needs
- Conduct detailed data analysis to identify improvements and solve processing challenges
- Ensure consistency and integrity of data models and architecture
- Carry out root cause analysis across data and pipelines to identify optimisation opportunities
- Produce high-quality documentation aligned with engineering best practice
