We're seeking a Head of Core Infrastructure to lead a highly skilled engineering capability across complex, security-sensitive environments. This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll define technical standards, drive engineering best practice, and develop high-performing teams delivering critical services for major clients. Working alongside senior architects, engineers and stakeholders, you'll help shape the future of infrastructure, balancing technical innovation with operational excellence across both cloud and on-premise environments. The Opportunity As Head of Core Infrastructure, you'll provide strategic leadership across a broad infrastructure capability, bringing together multiple engineering disciplines under a unified vision. You'll work through a network of Principal Engineers and Architects to establish standards, define technical direction, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across a diverse portfolio of customers and services. This role offers a unique blend of technical leadership, people management, and strategic influence, providing the opportunity to make a lasting impact across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the Core Infrastructure capability, setting technical direction and engineering standards. Establish and maintain infrastructure reference architectures, approved patterns, and best practices. Drive consistency, quality and innovation across multiple teams, services and customer accounts. Represent the capability within technical governance forums and Design Authority. Provide expert guidance on complex technical decisions and critical risk areas. Lead and support the recruitment, development and progression of engineering talent. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
