Security Engineer - Microsoft E5
Rate - £475 - £525 Outside IR35
Duration - 6 months initial
Location - Milton Keynes (Twice a week on site)
The role:
Our client is running a major technology transformation alongside a security programme. You'll make sure new cloud, data and SaaS platforms plug into their central Microsoft security stack rather than becoming isolated point solutions.
The estate is partly configured, so you'll assess what's there, set secure baselines and connect the pieces end to end.
What you'll do:
- Onboard platforms and tools into Microsoft Sentinel, building custom connectors where native ones don't exist
- Work with SecOps so the right events are captured and detections work
- Implement Microsoft Purview: DLP, sensitivity labels and information protection
- Define and apply secure baselines across AWS and Azure and onboard workloads into Defender and posture management
- Secure new SaaS and data platforms as they arrive, including SSO and SCIM provisioning through Entra ID
- Create reusable patterns, document designs, test controls and escalate risks
What you'll need
- Security engineering experience within a transformation programme
- A background in a regulated environment, such as financial services, insurance or the public sector
- Hands-on Sentinel onboarding, including custom connectors and SIEM integration (APIs, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Logs Ingestion API)
- Practical Microsoft Purview experience
- AWS and Azure security experience
- Experience baselining a partly configured environment and understanding how security components connect
