We are seeking a skilled, self-motivated web and graphic designer to support our core team on new projects.

Job Overview

You will work with our small team, and in particular our lead developer and our content editor. Your role will be to produce interesting, visually arresting designs – principally for websites, but with some print media projects and brand development work too. Each design will be produced in response to a brief which will reflect the clients' requirements. The work will be on an ad hoc basis as new projects arise and as existing clients require additional support. Our aim is to build long-term relationships with you, as a trusted contractor, who we can call on when we have increased capacity across our client base. Sanders Web Works serves a wide variety of clients, with a focus on more technically demanding websites and web applications.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Ability to translate client specifications into clear, compelling visual communications.
  • Flexible, adaptable self-starter able to envisage multiple approaches to a project.
  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Strong and varied portfolio.
  • Proficient in use of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Strong working knowledge of UI and UX principles.

Additional Values Skills & Experience

  • Able to translate designs into web-ready formats using WordPress and Elementor.
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS.

Location

We're happy for contractors to work remotely, but ideally, you would be based locally so that face-to-face meetings and interviews are possible when required. We may also request that you work from our office where project handover and collaboration are beneficial.
