We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person to work alongside our Premises Manager and help keep Sandcross Primary School clean, tidy, organised and well presented. This is a practical support role. You do not need trade skills, maintenance experience or formal qualifications - what matters most is a positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn.

What you may be helping with:
  • Preparing surfaces and carrying out straightforward painting and decorating using approved materials.
  • Moving furniture, equipment, resources and deliveries safely around the school.
  • Cleaning accessible windows and internal glass from ground level.
  • Clearing, cleaning and tidying rooms, cupboards, stores and shared areas.
  • Sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, litter picking and cleaning up after projects.
  • Setting up rooms and furniture for school events and activities.
  • Simple outdoor jobs such as sweeping paths, collecting leaves, weeding and general tidying.
  • Other similar low-level tasks allocated by the Premises Manager.
What we are looking for:
  • Aged 16 or over and past minimum school leaving age by the start date.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions carefully.
  • Happy to carry out practical work and work as part of a team.
  • Willing to learn, ask questions and follow health and safety guidance.
  • Able to treat pupils, staff and visitors respectfully and maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to undertake the practical requirements of the role, with reasonable adjustments where needed.
Hours and support:

Hours will be offered when support is needed, often for planned projects, during school holidays, after school, at busy times or to provide additional cover. There are no guaranteed hours. Work will be arranged in advance wherever possible.
