Role Summary

We are looking for a technically-rooted Senior Project Manager who has grown from a hands‑on engineering or technical background into a delivery leadership role. You will sit at the intersection of product, technology, and business — translating C‑Suite vision into sprint‑ready stories, and communicating back up the chain in business terms. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery of complex digital products across mobile apps, content management platforms, and backend services, working closely with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and senior stakeholders to ensure we ship quality releases on time. This is a role for someone who can hold their own in a product / technical conversation in the morning and present a release roadmap to the Executive team in the afternoon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery & Planning
    • Own end‑to‑end delivery of multiple concurrent digital product workstreams, including mobile apps, CMS platforms, and backend/API services.
    • Lead release management processes — defining release trains, coordinating go/no‑go decisions, managing deployment windows, and overseeing post‑release monitoring.
    • Maintain project plans, risk registers, and dependency maps; proactively identify blockers and drive resolution before they impact delivery.
    • Partner with Tech Leads to produce accurate scoping, effort estimation, and technical feasibility assessments.
  • Agile Delivery
    • Run and continuously improve Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives, sprint reviews — ensuring they are purposeful and time‑efficient.
    • Write clear, well‑structured user stories, acceptance criteria, and epics that development teams can action without ambiguity.
    • Manage and groom the product backlog in collaboration with Product Managers; maintain prioritisation aligned to business objectives.
    • Track velocity, cycle time, and delivery metrics; use data to drive informed planning and identify process improvements.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as the primary delivery contact for Product Managers, Tech Leads, and C‑Suite stakeholders — providing clear, honest status reporting tailored to each audience.
    • Facilitate alignment across cross‑functional teams (product, engineering, QA, design, data) to keep projects on track and decisions visible.
    • Translate business requirements into technical deliverables for engineering teams, and translate technical constraints and risks into business language for executive sponsors.
    • Build trusted relationships at all levels; manage expectations proactively and elevate risks with clear mitigation options.
  • Technical Collaboration
    • Engage credibly with engineering teams on technical discussions — understanding API dependencies, mobile build pipelines, CMS architecture, and infrastructure constraints.
    • Review and contribute to technical documentation, architecture decision records, and system design discussions.
    • Champion engineering best practices in quality, testing, CI/CD, and documentation as part of the delivery process.
    • Coordinate across mobile platforms (iOS/Android), backend services, and content management systems to ensure end‑to‑end delivery coherence.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project or delivery management experience, with a clear career progression from a technical role (developer, QA, solutions architect, or similar).
  • Demonstrable experience delivering mobile app projects (iOS and/or Android) and backend/API services from inception through live release.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Content Management Systems — configuration, integrations, and editorial workflow delivery.
  • Proven release management experience: managing release cycles, deployment coordination, rollback planning, and post‑release support windows.
  • Expert‑level Agile practitioner: running sprints, writing stories, managing backlogs, and running retrospectives in cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a track record of communicating effectively with both C‑Suite and engineering teams.
  • Proficiency with project management and Agile tooling (e.g. Jira, Confluence, or equivalent).
  • Comfortable with technical concepts such as REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and mobile release tooling (TestFlight, Play Console).
  • Certification in Agile is advantageous.
  • Fluent English required.
