We are Sandberg, a leading international language service provider. We provide professional translation and localisation services to our clients, helping them communicate their message to new audiences.
If you are a freelance translator working in one or more of the below language pairs, and you are interested in self-service translation work that can be completed in a free online tool, then we would love to hear from you!
Please note this is freelance work, and we are looking for qualified/experienced freelance translators only.
We are looking for people who:
- Translate in at least one of the following language pairs:
- Danish to English
- Norwegian to English
- Swedish to English
- Icelandic to English
- English to Danish
- English to Norwegian
- English to Swedish
- English to Finnish
- A degree in translation, linguistics or language studies or an equivalent degree that includes significant translation training, from a recognised institution of higher education;
- A degree in any other field from a recognised institution of higher education plus the equivalent of two years of full-time professional experience in translating;
- The equivalent of five years of full-time professional experience in translating.
Your tasks will include:
- Translation of small projects, with a variety of different content types, normally between 200 and 600 words
- Revision/QA of others' work
We will expect you to:
- Use a free online translation environment tool (experience of working in other CAT tools is an advantage)
- Follow instructions, project updates and FAQs
- Translate to a high standard that meets our client's quality expectations
- Understand different translation and quality control processes
- Translate content from scratch. Please note that you are forbidden from using MT for this particular work, or from copy-pasting any content outside of the online environment
Duration and workload:
- Before starting the work, there is a short vetting and onboarding process to complete
- Once in our community, you'll be able to assign projects to yourself and can complete as many as you wish
- The work is ongoing, though you should be prepared for fluctuation in volume of tasks available
- Once in our community, we may also offer you work for other projects
