You will be responsible for maintaining the required standard of your work to ensure vehicles are completed to agreed timescales and in line with customer requirements. The importance of this role is paramount to Sandal, as one of the largest privately owned BMW Centres in the area, our aim is to deliver a premium service. As a Panel Beater, you will be expected to attend regular BMW training sessions to keep up to date with the latest technology and maintain high customer satisfaction. The training will surpass that of most other manufacturers.
The responsibilities include:
- Structural Panel Replacement – assess, replace, align, fit and weld panels using manufacturer‑approved methods.
- Panel Repair – realign, dent removal, filler application, using manual and mechanical tools, air‑powered tools, welding machines, sanders, grinders.
- Bodywork Restoration – repair and reshape damaged panels such as wings, doors, roofs, quarter panels, bonnets, ensuring seamless integration.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Confident, qualified Panel Beater with extensive retail motor industry experience at dealership or UK bodyshop level.
- Expert in structural panel replacement, understanding manufacturer‑approved methods.
- Proficient in specialised tools, panel repair, dent removal.
- Knowledgeable of vehicle bodywork – metalworking, welding, repair techniques.
- Good communicator with attention to detail, able to plan ahead, work collaboratively.
- Full driving licence.
- Professional certification in panel beating or automotive body repair preferred. Previous MET experience a plus.
