We’re looking for a capable 2nd Line IT Support Engineer who enjoys solving problems and takes ownership of getting them resolved.
Sand Communications provides IT, cloud, connectivity and communications services to business customers. You’ll join our technical team, supporting a range of customer environments and helping keep their people working.
The role
Your main focus will be day to day IT support: picking up tickets, investigating issues, keeping customers updated and following work through to resolution.
We work from a shared support queue, so you’ll handle a mix of routine requests and more challenging problems. You’ll also help colleagues with troubleshooting, share your knowledge and contribute to maintenance and smaller projects.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a confident 2nd Line Engineer with practical experience supporting:
- Microsoft 365.
- Windows desktops and Windows Server.
- Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.
- Common networking and connectivity issues.
Just as important is how you work. You take responsibility, communicate clearly and follow things through. You know when to ask for help and provide the information needed to move an issue forward.
You’ll also enjoy helping less experienced colleagues build their skills.
Previous MSP experience would be useful. Azure, firewall and VoIP experience would also be welcome, but aren’t essential.
Location and working arrangements
You’ll need to be within practical travelling distance of Harrogate, with office attendance for at least five days in every ten working days. Customer site visits are required as needed, so a full UK driving licence is essential.
There is currently no on call rota, although some planned out-of-hours work is required.
