The Role
As National Head of Asset Management, you will lead the development and delivery of Sanctuary’s asset reinvestment strategy, ensuring that it supports the organisation’s corporate objectives and financial planning. Reporting to the Director of Property Performance, you will oversee the use of asset intelligence to inform strategic decisions, investment priorities, and long-term planning across the Group.
This is a hybrid role with flexibility on working location; however, regular travel will be required to engage with regional teams and operational colleagues across Sanctuary’s national footprint. It is essential that the successful candidate is comfortable spending time in the Regions to support programme delivery and stakeholder engagement. This is not a purely desk-based role.
This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and collaborative leadership. You will work closely with colleagues in Finance, Strategic Asset Management, Business Planning, and regional delivery teams to translate insights into tangible, value-driven investment programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine Sanctuary’s national asset reinvestment plan, ensuring it aligns with corporate strategy and financial sustainability.
- Oversee stock condition surveys and ensure data quality within the asset management system.
- Analyse asset performance, identifying trends and opportunities to optimise investment decisions.
- Ensure asset intelligence is embedded in business planning cycles and regulatory returns.
- Support regional teams to deliver reinvestment programmes aligned with corporate priorities, ensuring consistency in process, delivery, and reporting.
- Establish and maintain robust frameworks for asset assurance, governance, and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and achievable capital forecasting.
- Act as a key liaison with regional leads and external partners, promoting innovation and best practice in investment delivery.
About You
We are looking for a forward-thinking and data-driven leader with a strong background in asset management, capital investment, or reinvestment planning, ideally within housing, property, or the public sector.
You will bring:
- Substantial experience managing large-scale asset management or reinvestment programmes.
- Advanced knowledge of asset data systems, stock condition methodologies, and regulatory frameworks.
- A proven ability to translate complex data into practical investment strategies.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing significant capital budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and influential approach.
What You’ll Bring
- A detail-oriented and insight-led mindset.
- The ability to influence across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A pragmatic and commercially aware approach to investment planning.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
