35 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Officer to join our team based in Worcester. Reporting into the Legal Counsel - Corporate Commercial & Regulatory, this role provides an excellent opportunity for a paralegal level candidate who is looking to move into corporate, commercial and regulatory law in an in‑house environment. No two days are the same, and this role is suitable for highly performing candidates with a can‑do attitude.
This role is to assist the Corporate Commercial and Regulatory Team in the delivery of high‑quality legal services to Sanctuary Housing Association and its subsidiaries and operations. You will be accountable to provide high quality expert legal advice and support across the Group in relation to corporate, commercial and regulatory matters.
The role of Legal Officer - Corporate Commercial will include:
- Supporting the Corporate Commercial and Regulatory in‑house legal team in its delivery of high‑quality proactive legal services in relation to a wide array of areas including commercial, corporate and regulatory law in a variety of sectors.
- Managing a varied caseload of legal work supporting corporate, commercial and regulatory legal matters and queries and additional tasks supporting the wider team in delivery of our shared goals.
- Liaising with the Group's external legal advisors and working collaboratively with them on cross disciplinary projects and cases.
- Ensuring that legal services are delivered in a cost effective and efficient way.
- Managing the recruitment, performance management and development of quality staff to ensure required skilled staff available to fulfil contract specifications in line with customer expectations.
- Assisting in the delivery of training on areas of legislation relevant to the Group's operations and property interests.
Skills and experiences:
- Experience working for an organisation operating in complex regulatory frameworks.
- Experience of handling an independent caseload with good attention to details.
- Proven experience working as part of a team on time sensitive and high‑priority tasks.
- Some experience of conducting research to overcome strategic issues.
- Experience of contributing to projects and exhibiting project management skills.
- Proven experience of undertaking statistical analysis and producing reports based on this analysis.
