Are you highly organised, passionate about good governance, and skilled at building strong working relationships with people at all levels?
We're looking for a Governance Officer to join our friendly and professional Governance and Company Secretarial team.
Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll play a key role in supporting our Boards and Committees, ensuring they operate effectively and in line with regulatory and legislative requirements.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same.
You'll work closely with Board Members, Directors, Executive Assistants and colleagues across the business, becoming a trusted contact who helps deliver a high-quality governance service.
Building effective relationships and providing excellent customer service are at the heart of this position.
The role of Governance Officer will include
- Supporting the effective operation of Boards and Committees through robust governance processes
- Building positive relationships with Board Members, Directors and colleagues across the organisation
- Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and managing the production of high-quality papers and minutes
- Reviewing and formatting reports to ensure consistency and professionalism
- Supporting Board and Committee member training and development activities
- Maintaining governance records, registers and documentation, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and compliant
- Contributing to governance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing a flexible, responsive and customer-focused service to stakeholders across the Group
Skills and experiences
- Recent experience in a similar role or with strong transferable skills
- Experience supporting meetings, including preparing papers and taking accurate minutes
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
