We have an opportunity for a Business Continuity and Resilience Manager, to manage the development, implementation, assurance and continuous improvement of Group-wide Business Continuity and Operational Resilience frameworks, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and embedding best practice to strengthen the Group's ability to prevent, respond to and recover from disruptive events. This role sits within Group Financial Services, which is responsible for all aspects of accounting for the Group. This includes the provision of financial and management accounting services, financial analysis and preparation of annual budgets.
In this role, the successful candidate will need to ensure that they fully understand and fulfil their responsibilities in respect of health & safety, equality & diversity and safeguarding at all times. This profile is not an exhaustive list of duties and other activities may need to be carried out requiring similar skill levels.
The role of Business Continuity and Resilience Manager will include:
- Managing and maintaining the Group Business Continuity and Operational Resilience framework, including policy, standards, methodology and governance; ensuring alignment to Group objectives and risk appetite.
- Managing the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and planning lifecycle across Group businesses: setting requirements, supporting plan development, assuring quality, and driving timely reviews and approvals for critical services and processes.
- Managing the Group Business Impact Assessment (BIA) and risk assessment programme; maintaining impact tolerances, critical service mapping and prioritised recovery requirements.
- Managing and coordinating the Group exercising and testing programme (desktop, scenario and simulation), capturing lessons learned and driving remediation to improve resilience.
- Providing expert advice and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders; facilitating cross functional decision making during incidents and ensuring effective coordination with crisis management arrangements.
- Managing Fusion Risk Management (Salesforce) BCM configuration and data quality; producing MI/KPI dashboards and insightful analysis for the Head of Business Continuity, senior management teams and governance forums.
- Partnering with Technology/IT to govern alignment to disaster recovery and cyber resilience requirements (RTO/RPO, backup, restoration and DR testing) and ensure dependencies are captured in plans.
- Managing third party and supplier resilience activity for critical suppliers, including due diligence, assurance reviews and integration of supplier dependencies into BIAs and continuity plans.
- Contributing to wider risk and resilience programmes/projects, support audits, regulatory requests and continuous improvement initiatives, promoting a positive resilience culture across the Group.
Skills and experiences:
- Substantial analytical and problem-solving experience, using data to identify resilience risks and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging and constructively challenging senior leaders.
- Proven experience of managing complex projects/programmes across multiple business areas, delivering to time, quality and stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to remain effective under pressure, making sound judgements during incidents and managing competing priorities.
- Proven experience of working to tight deadlines, planning and prioritising workloads across a forward programme of activity.
- Extensive experience producing high-quality reports, MI and presentations for senior management teams and governance forums.
- Thorough knowledge of business continuity and operational resilience principles and relevant standards (e.g., ISO 22301) and regulatory expectations.
- Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential.
