What you will do

  • Act as the lead for social care within SEND services, ensuring effective integration with education and health.
  • Oversee and contribute to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs) and EHCP development.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to practitioners on SEND legislation and social care responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, health services, families, and partner agencies.
  • Contribute to service development, quality assurance, and improvement plans.

Person Specification

  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent) or relevant professional qualification.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Registration & Compliance: Registered with Social Work England (or relevant professional body).
  • Strong knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice (0–25 years), and Children Act 1989.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
