Social Worker – Adults Community Team | Cornwall, UK
Rate: £32.50 per hour | Contract: Full-time, 43 months
Sanctuary Personnel is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a dynamic Adults Community Team in Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of vulnerable adults while enjoying the flexibility of locum work and a competitive rate. The role covers Mid Cornwall, from Padstow to Goonhavern and across to Fraddon, with base locations in an informal office in Newquay or New County Hall. Candidates should either live locally or be willing to travel daily within the area.

Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker

Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies to meet the needs of vulnerable adults.

Place individuals and carers at the centre of decision-making, incorporating their views and wishes.

Conduct Mental Capacity Act assessments and Best Interest decision-making processes.

Handle Court of Protection applications and attend hearings, if required.

Provide adult safeguarding interventions, including self-neglect cases, in line with legal standards.

Promote independence, reablement, and effective communication among individuals, families, carers, and agencies.

Travel to the Watergate PCN area as required.
Requirements of the Social Worker

Qualified Social Worker (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) with SWE registration.

Proven experience in adult social care, including safeguarding and complex case management.

Competent in conducting Mental Capacity Act assessments and Best Interest decision-making.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Flexible approach and willingness to travel across Mid Cornwall as needed.
