What you will do:

  • Conduct assessments and reviews to ensure adults receive appropriate support and resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide expert guidance in complex safeguarding cases, upholding individuals' rights and autonomy.
  • Offer support and supervision to Social Care Officers and students, promoting strength-based practice.
  • Chair meetings and manage a caseload, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery.

Key Corporate Accountabilities:

  • Align practice with service plan objectives and performance targets.
  • Maintain compliance with GDPR responsibilities and complete required training.
  • Actively safeguard vulnerable adults, recognising safeguarding as a shared responsibility.
  • Act as a corporate parent, supporting care-experienced children and young people in Medway.
  • Participate in performance appraisal, team development, and uphold the Equality Act 2010.
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies and support crime prevention under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
  • Contribute to the Medway Carbon Neutral by 2050 commitment and respond to major civil incidents when required.

Person Specification:

  • Level A: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in complex safeguarding and promoting individual autonomy.
  • Level B and C (Additions): Experience in team leadership, performance management, and supervision of complex cases.
  • Practice Educator Award and/or additional specialised qualifications.
