Base office location may vary dependent upon suitable candidate (Basildon, Ipswich, Ely or Welwyn). £57,701 - £63,775 per year plus Company car or car allowance. 40 hours per week.

We have an opportunity for a Regional Asset Manager to join our team within Property Services, reporting into Deputy Head of Service and to be part of the regional senior management team (SMT). You will be direct line manager to 3 senior surveyors and a coordinator, with overall responsibility for a team of 20 people across the region. The location of this role is flexible and can have a base location of either Ely, Ipswich, Basildon or Welwyn.

For this role you will be responsible for defining commissioning and leading investment programmes to undertake analysis on properties as required, to maximise the Group’s financial returns and to ensure the Group’s assets are maintained to all statutory and regulatory standards.

The role of Regional Asset Manager will include:

  • Manage the identification and delivery of targeted, value for money asset investment plans to ensure the ongoing fit for purpose nature of the stock in support of Group objectives.
  • Deliver investment, cyclical and compliance programmes within agreed budgets through effective financial management to achieve timely completion of projects and ensure value for money, managing contractors accordingly.
  • Encourage client involvement and feedback to ensure capital and revenue projects are accessible and responsive to customer’s needs.
  • Adopt a positive and proactive attitude in response to customer complaints and identifying any shortfalls in service delivery ensuring they are dealt with appropriately.
  • Ensure routine stock condition surveys, inspections for complaints, disrepairs and legal notices are undertaken in a timely manner on targeted stock, to the agreed quality standards to minimise risk to the Group.
  • Ensure quality data regarding property assets is robust and well maintained in order that it provides meaningful data when undertaking strategic property portfolio reviews and to inform investment programmes.

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to a Degree or relevant experience and willing to work towards RICS if required from a business need.
  • Management experience in undertaking a similar role.
  • Robust knowledge of building regulations, legislation and current practice.
  • Working knowledge of the construction and housing industries.
  • Good Technical Report and Committee Report writing skills.
  • Ability to present information and report on findings to stakeholders.
  • Ability to present recommendations based on analysis, logic and evidence.

This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.

South East region - £54,899 with an additional policy allowance of £5,687 per annum (rising to £57,788 with an additional policy allowance of £5,986 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance).

Elsewhere in the UK - £52,284 with an additional policy allowance of £5,416 per annum (rising to £55,036 with an additional policy allowance of £5,701 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance).
