An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join a growing Cellular Pathology service in Alderney. This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary between £105,750 and £142,178, alongside the chance to develop specialist interests in areas such as urology, dermatopathology (skin), gastrointestinal, or breast pathology.

What you will do:
- Deliver general cellular pathology services, reporting on approximately 5,000 specimens annually, including skin, gastrointestinal, gynaecology, urological, and breast pathology cases.
- Participate in seven structured Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, reviewing histological findings alongside radiological imaging.
- Conduct and report gynaecological and non-gynaecological cytology specimens, including audit work under contract with North Bristol Trust.
- Perform autopsies primarily on behalf of H.M. Procureur, with most procedures being non-invasive, supported by an anatomical pathology assistant.
- Participate in a minimal on-call rota, advising police services on potential forensic involvement and rarely dealing with histopathology frozen sections.
Person specification and key criteria:
- FRCPath qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
- Full and specialist GMC registration with a licence to practise, or eligibility to obtain this within six months of interview.
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent qualification (for UK-trained candidates), obtainable within six months of interview.
- Broad experience managing histopathology workloads within a busy District General Hospital environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more diagnostic areas, such as breast, gastrointestinal, urological, or dermatopathology.
