We have an opportunity for an Electrician to join our team in Cambridgeshire. Working within a team of 24 operatives, the role will include lone and team working. Carrying out various DTD repairs including fault finding, socket/switch replacement, heater and extractor fan replacement. You will primarily be responsible for inspection and testing in occupied properties and producing Electrical Condition Reports, as well as remedial works. You will be provided with a company van and power tools, and training will be provided as and when required.
This role sits within Property Services, who are responsible for delivering high quality and cost-effective property repairs, compliance and installation and estate services across the UK to mainly internal clients and additionally a small number of external clients. It is also responsible for operational Health and Safety of the service, including fire safety and delivering effective group wide asset management and reinvestment programmes.
The role of Electrician will include:
- Carry out installation, fault fixing and maintenance duties in accordance with contract and service specifications.
- Provide accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed.
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations, in accordance with contract and service specifications.
- Resolve problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed in line with agreed processes and within contract and service specifications.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed, in accordance with the agreed requisition procedures and budgets.
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to 18th Edition - 3rd and 4th amendment, NVQ Level 3 in core electrics, City & Guilds 2391-52 and AM2, or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation.
- Analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills along with a customer focused approach.
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
