What you will do:
- Specialist Assessment and Reporting: Conduct comprehensive assessments focusing on functional, sensory, and motor skills for children with complex needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition, ADHD, DCD, physical disabilities, and PMLD. Produce high-quality, statutory advice and reports to inform Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Develop and deliver tailored intervention programmes targeting fine and gross motor skills, visual perception, self-care, independent living skills, and sensory processing differences. Your work will support individual needs, as well as contribute at group and whole-class levels.
- Environmental Adaptations and Equipment: Assess educational environments and recommend the implementation of specialist equipment, assistive technology, and physical adaptations that enhance classroom accessibility and promote student independence.
- Staff Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions, workshops, and provide ongoing consultation to teachers and learning support assistants. Support the integration of practical occupational therapy and sensory-regulation strategies into daily educational practices.
- Multi-Agency and Family Collaboration: Work closely with parents, carers, and a multidisciplinary team, including Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, and school leadership, to ensure a unified, holistic approach to each student's development.
