What you will do:
- Deliver specialist care for patients with respiratory diseases such as COPD, asthma, ILD, and lung infections.
- Provide consultant-led outpatient clinics and inpatient ward rounds.
- Contribute to acute and general medical on-call rotas as required, ensuring prompt and effective patient care.
- Interpret diagnostic investigations, including imaging, spirometry, and blood gases, guiding accurate diagnoses.
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to foster integrated patient care.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safety, and quality standards to maintain high care quality.
- Contribute to service development, audit, teaching, and research activities to advance the department's capabilities.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and reporting to enhance patient care continuity.
Person specification:
Qualifications:
- Primary Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
Registration & Training:
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Respiratory Medicine (or within 6 months of CCT)
- Completion of CCT in Respiratory and General (Internal) Medicine (or equivalent)
- Demonstrable evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
