We have an opportunity for a Regional Property H&S Advisor, based in Scotland, to join our Property Health and Safety Team covering Scotland. The main purpose of this role is to act as a subject matter expert in the area, providing high quality Health and Safety advice, guidance, support and partnership working for continual improvement to the operational and other departmental staff across the Sanctuary Group, as well as acting as a Principal Designer on various projects to the wider business on construction projects.
The role of Regional Property H&S Business Advisor will include:
- Acting as the H&S lead within a designated region of the country, providing colleagues, managers and external contractors clear guidance and practical advice on H&S related issues.
- Acting as Principal design/CDM advisor for internal clients across various business areas.
- Supporting property colleagues with the planning and delivery of both Sanctuary property services and external contractor related reactive and proactive works.
- Undertaking risk and method assessments, making prompt and appropriate interventions to ensure that all building and refurbishment projects are compliant with CDM regulations.
- Undertaking root cause analysis accident and incident investigations when serious accidents or incidents have occurred and liaising with the Group’s legal and insurance teams to prepare legally sound reports.
- Supporting procurement and property teams during procurement projects, using knowledge and experience of specific compliance subjects such as asbestos, electrical and water hygiene safety.
- Identifying and analysing H&S non-conformance and accident/incident trends in a designated region.
- Promoting awareness of H&S processes and providing support and partnership working to colleagues at all levels of the business to actively improve Sanctuary Group’s Health and Safety Culture and Vision.
Skills and experiences:
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational H&S/ Construction certificate or equivalent Level 3 Health and Safety qualification.
- P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings qualification.
- CISRS Scaffold Inspection Training Scheme Certificate.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, legislation and current best practice relating to property (including CDM).
- Significant experience of analysing information, identifying trends and producing tailored high level reports which are jargon free and easy to understand.
This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
