The role
of Maintenance Assistant will include:
- Undertaking site repairs and maintenance duties efficiently to achieve positive outcomes.
- Identifying potential maintenance issues and liaising with any necessary specialists or contractors.
- Carrying out planned routine works such as decorating.
- Assisting in scheduled building checks and audits, ensuring safe and secure environments.
- Occasional gardening duties.
- Serving as point of contact for contractors who are on site.
Skills and experiences:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or caretaker background is essential.
- Prior experience identifying and carrying out repairs.
- Experience in manual handling and operating hand tools and light machinery. Ability to safely use various handheld and power tool devices.
- Good customer service and communication skills with tenants, and the external care provider.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
- Maintain and review support and training so that maintenance and compliance filling system is up to date.
- Computer literate in basic Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is desirable.
