The role of Maintenance Caretaker will include:

  • Undertake reactive basic repairs and maintenance duties in student accommodation, undertaking repairs and reporting issues which require specialist attention.
  • Ensuring statutory compliance is maintained including carrying out Fire Alarm Tests, emergency Lighting and water hygiene, ensuring they are all completed in a timely manner.
  • Record keeping in line with standard operations procedures.
  • Assisting the management team with flat inspections and audits to ensure safe and secure environments in line with Health and Safety and emergency procedures and regulations.
  • Ensuring the standard of cleanliness of the site is maintained including waste management and cleaning in accordance with specific site requirements and schedules.
  • Act as first point of contact to our customers, responding positively to complaints and service breakdowns.

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience within a caretaking or maintenance role is essential.
  • Practical skills in identifying and/or carrying out basic repairs.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety.
  • Excellent communication skills allowing you to provide great customer service.
  • Ability to interpret written instructions, maintain simple written records and assess priorities to then plan work schedule effectively.
