We’re excited to welcome a General Assistant to support the preparation and serving of nutritious, well-presented meals at our Dunboyne Court, Torquay, 170 St Marychurch Road, Devon, TQ1 3AB Retirement Community, without the long hours or split shifts often found in hospitality. Working as part of a friendly kitchen team, you’ll help create a positive dining experience for residents within a calm, well-organised environment.

Your role
Catering
- Help prepare meals and drinks while following food hygiene standards
- Support customers and colleagues to deliver a high standard of service
- Keep kitchens, communal areas, and flats clean and tidy
- Report any faults or hazards to maintain a safe environment
- Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment is used safely
Cleaning
- Keep communal areas, offices, and kitchens clean and tidy
- Complete all cleaning duties to a high standard
- Report any faults or hazards to maintain a safe environment
- Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment is used safely
- Help prepare meals and drinks while meeting customers’ needs and respecting their privacy and dignity
Your skills
- Experience with general cleaning duties (desirable)
- Some experience in a domestic or catering environment
- Level 2 diploma in housekeeping or catering, or willingness to work towards
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace
