Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, review, and provide support to children, families, or carers with complex social care needs, adhering to legal frameworks, policies, and guidance.
- Assess family functioning and provide help and support, especially when relationship breakdowns threaten children's health or wellbeing.
- Collaborate effectively with other professionals to help children, young people, and families improve their circumstances and regain control of their lives.
- Conduct assessment inquiries and plan responses to safeguard children from abuse, neglect, or exploitation, including intervention when necessary.
- Arrange appropriate alternative care, including permanent homes, in collaboration with children and their families.
- Make recommendations regarding statutory intervention thresholds.
- Promote autonomy and development for individuals with complex social needs or disabilities.
- Maintain accurate case records and participate in planning and decision-making forums.
- Act as Practice Educator or Assessor for social work students and newly qualified social workers.
- Work with communities and individuals to maximize their strengths and resources.
- Manage a complex caseload, providing guidance and support to staff and students.
- Contribute to organizational development through ongoing training and development.
- Participate in project or process teams as part of the new operating model.
